	Either through a professional service or with a high-quality home steam cleaner or shampooer, deep clean all carpeting. If you do this yourself, it's very important to pull as much water out of the carpet as possible to prevent the development of mold in the padding. It's a great idea to do this during the early fall, since we track a lot of dirt into our homes over the warm months of spring and summer.
	Move the refrigerator away from the wall and vacuum the condenser coils once a year unless you have a no-clean condenser model. Refrigerators with clean coils run for shorter periods.
	Replace any rubber washer hoses after three years and on a three-year basis thereafter.
	Periodically, have a professional inspect and assess the functioning of your furnace, ventilation and air conditioning system.
