6-8 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR MOVE [Print Version]
	Create a Moving File of all the paperwork associated with your move (movers' paperwork, truck rental, receipts, etc.) and other important paperwork you may need to locate quickly.
	Research your new community's area by looking for online community guides and newspapers.
	Make a list of valuable and/or difficult to replace items. You may want to ship them separately from items your mover takes (or even keep them with you).
	Make a list of all the people (friends, relatives, businesses) who need to be notified of your move.
	Take an inventory of each room in your current home and decide what items you want to get rid of, either through a yard sale or by donation.
